Field of Dreams Baby Blanket

I have been busy editing baby shower pictures. There are lots of them. So today I will share pictures of the baby blanket I crocheted, that inspired the colors for the baby shower.

Here it is!!

Danetta LOVES this blanket, and I am going to make one for her little girl to be. My niece. ♥♥♥ I am so excited to have another niece!!

She is doing the nursery in colors from this blanket, and from the baby shower. Like the shower, it will be mostly light pink and gray, with just touches of the darker colors. So pretty.

This was the first blanket I ever crocheted. The pattern is here. I love all the flowers. They make the blanket so pretty and girly.

I changed up the colors from the original pattern. And I made a matching amigurumi giraffe to go with it.

It made a really cute little set.

I can't wait to make it again!!

♥ Kim

My little sister is going to be getting pregnant soon and I'd love to have something like this to give her when she eventually has a baby. Do you ever do this stuff for other people? Please say yes! Ha ha! I love it! Let me know (you can send me a fb message with the info) GREAT work though! Your sister is lucky to have someone like you!

    1. Kirsten,

Thanks!! I tried to click on it, and it looks like their website is down. You can also find the pattern here: http://www.redheart.com/free-patterns/field-dreams. Just click on download printable instructions, and it'll take you to the right page. If you decide to make it, I hope it turns out amazing. :):)

    1. Lisa,

Thank you! It is my own design. I don't have a pattern for it, just a bunch of notes to remember how to make it. It was my first very first design, and it would need a lot of work and rewriting before I'd feel comfortable sharing it. I know that's not what you want to hear, sorry!! But if I do ever decide to sit down and write an actual pattern out and share it, I will post it here on my blog. :)

  7. I absolutely love your giraffe and your blanket! I wish that you'd get the pattern for it written up! I just recently found out I'm pregnant and we've sort of got this in 'joke' about giraffes and I thought a super cute way to tell my boyfriend we're expecting would be to make a small family of giraffes. Hand him the three of them and be "This is you. This is me." "Oh, well what's this one then?" "Oh, that's our new addition!" Anyway, please let us know if you get this pattern up! I cannot find a cute one like this anywhere. All the others look strange that I find but this is amazing! [a.brighter.discontent@aol.com]

  8. How did you assign the colors in relation to the colors in the instructions? It looks like you have 6 or 7 colors as opposed to 9 colors that the instructions have. I'm trying to copy your colors, love the combo! :)

    1. Aww thanks!! That is sweet of you. I actually had an order for a giraffe recently, and finally got the chance to re write the head like I wanted. But it is all jotted down in one of my notebooks somewhere. Thanks for offering to help, I will keep it in mind if I ever get my notes transferred to the computer. :)
